Event Recap: Clearloop Solar Farm Flip the Switch

On September 23, 2022 Sheeco helped Clearloop Corporation flip the switch on their first solar farm in Jackson, TN.

Clearloop works with brands big and small that want to offset their carbon footprint, clean up the grid, and expand access to clean energy by building solar farm projects in our own backyard. Their first project is 1 million watts of new solar capacity in Jackson, TN reclaiming 60 million lbs CO2.

This event featured welcoming remarks and tours of the project for 150 fifth graders from Memphis, TN, about 40 college students from Vanderbilt University and Tennessee College of Applied Technology, and other partners.

Similar to the groundbreaking event in 2021, we took care to partner with local vendors and reduce the carbon footprint by eliminating waste, utilizing solar power, and more. 40% of the total event budget was spent with vendors from the local area. We partnered again with Kona Ice of Jackson, featuring a solar-powered truck and compostable cups. Baker Bro’s BBQ offered lunch in compostable boxes and recyclable canned drinks.

All decor was reusable or compostable including the Eastern TN cedar photo wall, directional signage, time capsule plaque, and florals from City Florist.

Over 97% of waste was diverted from landfill thanks to Compost Nashville!
