Sheeco Events Stands with the LGBTQ+ Community

We are stunned and horrified by the ongoing attacks on the rights of LGBTQ+ people in our home state of Tennessee. As a partially queer-owned business, it’s critical that we advocate for equality and justice for everyone.

The hateful and bigoted bills proposed and passed by the legislative body of Tennessee and Governor Lee are harmful to the state’s people and economy. This is unacceptable and must be stopped. We are a small business with limited resources, but we will continue to take action and support the LGBTQ+ community and all communities whose rights are jeopardized.

A threat to justice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere.
— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We joined Tennessee Open for Business, a program that recognizes inclusive and welcoming businesses. By endorsing this program, we hope to encourage more businesses to adopt inclusive practices and create safe spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals.

We also invested in a membership with the Tennessee Pride Chamber, which supports LGBTQ+ businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the state. We recognize the importance of creating economic opportunities for marginalized communities and will continue to prioritize doing business with minority-led businesses as vendors for our events.

Lastly, we are collaborating with Music City Creative, a queer-owned, sustainably operated screen-printing company in Nashville, to develop our first merchandise store. Our first design is titled “Gaia Pride” to honor Earth Month and celebrate the queer community. The phrase “Mother Nature is a Lesbian” refers to an iconic photo from a 1974 protest in New York City.

100% of the profits generated will be donated to Inclusion Tennessee.

You will continue to find us at local rallies and marches for the rights, safety, and protection of our neighbors. Small businesses are responsible for speaking out to create a more equitable and just society. That's why we want to hear from you about other ways to show up for Tennesseans.

Together, we will create a more welcoming, safe, and inclusive future for everyone.
